Unfinished Business: The Magic School Bus Review

Unfinished Business: The Magic School Bus Review from Cartoon Hero4 on Vimeo.

In Part 2 of the "I'm Turning 30" Trilogy, it's time to take a look back at an animated SERIES that was one of my very first adaptations, and why it still holds up. (Mostly.)

  1. Fun fact: The Producer was played by Malcolm-Jamar Warner, though according to Wikipedia (question the source and the few times I caught the show I didn't see her) there was a second producer that took the calls but wasn't popular.

  2. I hope the next one is Fat Albert since that show was an edutainment show too.

  3. My ship was Arnold and Wanda mainly due to Arnold's fantasy in the episode where he was the field trip.

  4. Closer, but we need to head to ABC instead to catch it. Did air in the 70s, though. But, you might have used it to learn multiplication tables or memorize the Preamble.

  5. Ah, yes, The Magic School Bus. The perfect show for a drinking game. Take a shot whenever each kid says their signature catchphrase. LOL!

Also, a rather timely episode, considering that the MSB author, Joanne Cole, recently passed away. RIP!

Unrelated note, I find it interesting that you mentioned Goosebumps and Animorphs as Scholastic's two biggest hits, yet didn't mention their biggest hit. Did you legit forget, or was its omission intentional because the author has become too problematic?

  6. Oh yeah, I can attest to those Scholastic events. I live in a small rural town, and even we got it every year.
