Unfinished Business: My Top 20 Animated Movies of 2024

It took me a while, but let's finally send off this terrible year with a much better sendoff than it deserved!

  1. At least thankfully you didn't talk about Mufasa. Since while I did enjoy that movie, it doesn't help that with these recent remakes coming out getting into a lot of unnecessary controversy, makes the community feel rather mean-spirited in tone, and kind of the reason why I've started to get cynical towards Disney's legacy or the animation medium.

  2. Can't blame you for being in a mood toward 2024, since it's the year that saw the re-election of the Fanta-Faced Führer.

  3. I don't blame you at all for how bad 2024 was, and it's okay if life gets in the way. You're only human, and you shouldn't feel responsible for how unfair life can be sometimes. I'm also not really looking forward to 2025 in general, other than a few small things like the releases of some games and anime. Also, the orange manbaby deserves all the potshots, so I have no problem with you doing exactly that.

The Peanuts strip started in 1947 as Li'l Folks before becoming Peanuts in 1950 due to a trademark conflict with the 1930s strip, Little Folks. It didn't start in 1968.

    1. Fair enough, but I'd wager even less people care about that than people who first heard of Peanuts through the newspaper and are still alive today.

  5. Agh, I was heartbroken when I learned Toriyama had passed away. It feels like my childhood has been taking blow after blow for the past few years. We lost Kazuki Takahashi and Jason David Frank in 2022.

And just to pile it all on, Gene Hackman passed away two days ago. Along with his wife and dog...

But don't worry about the funeral. All proceedings have been taken care of, and it will be held in Otisburg. Farewell to an undisputed legend.

  6. Criminy, I didn't know Fujimoto was also behind Fire Punch. Makes sense in hindsight.

  7. Can you do Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, please? I am 16 years old teenage boy.

    1. I don't care how old you are. And if you'd stop annoying me for five minutes, you would know that I responded to your comment that someone already requested that, and I would get to it pretty soon. Clearly, they aren't teaching kids patience these days.
