  1. You know, this is something I have REFUSED to watch. I just saw one thing from a friend of mine and that made me swear it off completely. My friend told me that they changed Kiara's personality and that just got me really upset as I enjoyed the personality Kiara had in Simba's Pride. It has even made me refuse to watch any reviews of it.

So, as much as I love your reviews, I'm dodging this one. Sorry!

  2. In it's defense The Lion Guard is designed with Disney Junior in mind. Which means it's probably the only traditionally-drawn show on the whole channel, not just the programming block, and will have a lighter, kid-targeted feel than the regular movies. I saw the movie and the first two episodes and I thought it was pretty interesting. Not something I'd get into but interesting nonetheless.

  3. I'll tell you this much - the actual show itself manages to be better than the movie and those are only 22 minutes for about two intermingled stories each. Had the film not been 45 minutes and actually fleshed out to 75, it probably would have made for better pacing and given a better personality for the other TLG characters.

Also, I totally agree with you on Simba. He went to full douche mode [and this is supposedly before he did it again in "Simba's Pride"!] on Kion and it was Simba's own fault that Kion's choices were what they were. Besides, I have yet to see another group of lions other than himself, Nala, Kiara, and the two girly lionesses - honestly, who else was Kion going to select?

    Great review, btw!
